Inquiry based learning is based on helping children learn to ask questions. What better way to encourage them to ask meaningful, deep questions than by presenting them with a piece of art to examine on many different levels?
This year, the Mustang Museum at Medlock Bridge Elementary School is encouraging our students to enjoy and look critically at art pieces by Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. What an amazing opportunity these boys and girls will have. Ms. Avery has turned a classroom into a real museum experience with some elementary school twists like hands on activities and a real pond with water lilies.
Be sure to ask your student about their time in the mustang museum and what they have learned about art and inquiry.
