Read Across Medlock- On March 7th at 2:00 Medlock Bridge will form a reading train across the school. Every class will meet in the hallway, each student will bring a great book and they will read silently for 15 minutes.
Same Book, Same Time- The Medlock Bridge school community is reading The Tale of Desperaux by Kate Di Camillo. Every day at 2:10 we will tune in to hear Ms. Hutchens, Ms. McGee, Ms. Doyle or Ms. Martin read a few chapters of this wonderful, classic story. Be sure to ask your students about Desperaux and his princess. We hope to be finished reading by the end of March.
Read across America Reading Record- Every student in the school received a reading record to take home. We are challenging our students to read at least 15 minutes every evening and keep a record of what they have read. Don't forget that reading aloud to your student counts for this reading record. At the end of the month, when the reading record is complete they can bring it into the library and receive a Dr. Seuss treat and a bag of "truffula" seeds to plant in the courtyard.
